Part of the appeal of any downtown is walkability, and easy access to local transportation, and “last mile transit” from public transportation to destinations within the city.

I remember going to Toronto years ago on a business trip and trying to walk from my hotel to the office. There were no sidewalks at all, just grass along the major roadway.
I’m happy to see that this article, though I wonder if where I was is considered “downtown”.
